Fig Tree News TeamHarvey Roberts, Harbour Island district council, reports from Bay Street:

Morning Kimberly:
Harbour Island is surely a blessed Island, the beauty
of the place is unbelievable.

After two major Hurricanes passing over, it's as though the Island has had a spring clean, the trees have already begun to bud and a few are flowering. Folks are replacing
shingles here and there and getting the place back to

This year's Regatta has been downgraded due to the fact
that with Hurricanes Frances and Jeanne touching the
entire country, we though it best to have a 'Homecoming' instead, in respect to the other Islands that were damaged.

We therefore thought that folks who could, would take advantage of the holiday weekend and visit loved ones on Harbour Island and Eleuthera.

The Homecoming will begin on October 7th and run until
October 11th on the usual spot on Bay Street. The site
is being prepared as we speak. We are expecting a huge crowd on the Island, the only difference with this
event is that the sailing sloops will not be here. Out
of town folks have already begun to come, and we are
advertising heavily in Nassau and elsewhere that Harbour
Island/North Eleuthera is having a 'Homecoming' this year.
