Fig Tree News TeamSir Freddie (Mitchell) has been busy -- he is trying to compose a song about joining the CSME. He thinks that it will help people make up their minds.

Here is the first draft -- it is sung to the tune of YMCA, by the Village People. The song is called "CSME'. It goes like this:

Young man, there's no need to feel down.
I said, young man, pick yourself off the ground.
I said, young man, there's a new economy in town
There's no need to be unhappy.

Young man, there's a place you can go.
I said, young man, take a trip to Barbado.
You can stay there, and I'm sure you will find
Many ways to spend a dime.

It's fun to join the C-S-M-E.
It's fun to join the C-S-M-E.

They have everything for you men to enjoy,
You can hang out with all the Bay Street Boys ...

It's fun to join the C-S-M-E.
It's fun to join the C-S-M-E.

You can get yourself cleaned, you can have a good meal,
Wid CSME, You can do whatever you feel ...

Young man, are you listening to me?
I said, young man, what do you want to be?
I said, young man, you can make real your dreams.
But you got to know this one thing!

No country does it all by himself.
I said, young man, put your pride on the shelf,
And just go there, to the C-S-M-E.
I'm sure they can help you today.

It's fun to join the C-S-M-E.
It's fun to join the C-S-M-E.

They have everything for you men to work,
You spend the day eating Jamaica jerk ...

It's fun to join the C-S-M-E.
It's fun to join the C-S-M-E.

You can get yourself cleaned, you can have a good meal,
You can get a job in the DR sugar field ...

Young man, I was once in your shoes.
I said, I was down and out with the blues.
Then I got a lawyer degree.
Now I'm making you join the CSME ...

That's when someone came up to me,
And said, young man, take a walk up to the sea.
There's a place there called the CSME
They can make you economically free.

It's fun to join the C-S-M-E.

You can hang out with all the boys ...

C-S-M-E.... you'll find it at the C-S-M-E.
