KimberlyThanks to Mandy and RU21, the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Putumayo World Music, Fine Living Network, Briland.com, Rainbow Inn, Royal Palm Hotel, King's Country of Harbour Island and Villa Serena of Tranquility Bay, Eleuthera for sponsoring the recent Dees Digithon Hurricane Katrina/Bahamas promotion.

The digithon was a huge awareness raiser for the work that the Salvation Army is doing on behalf of survivors of Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana and Mississippi, and all of the great interviews and live musical performances (Eric Benet, Geoff Byrd, Jimmer Bolden, the Salvation Army 4) will be rebroadcast live on Monday, 10 October at www.rick.com and www.digithon.com.

Stay tuned for more Dees news and Bahamas connections, while we work on a show to be broadcast live from Harbour Island next spring.

Thanks
Kimberly

KimberlyDIGITAL DEES BROADCASTS 24/7 FOR KATRINA RELIEF
WORLDWIDE RADIO PERSONALITY RICK DEES JOINS SALVATION ARMY TO HELP MOBILIZE RELIEF EFFORT ON RICK.COM, LIVE FROM DIGITAL HOLLYWOOD

LOS ANGELES -- Radio entertainer and "Weekly Top 40" host Rick Dees has announced the first-ever “Digithon” to mobilize and motivate listeners around the world to help in the aftermath of the devastation wrought by Hurricane Katrina, to be broadcast, streamed and podcast live on Monday, September 19, 2005 from the Digital Hollywood’s fall conference at the Loews Hotel in Santa Monica, California.

"Radio is a personal medium built around the power of community," says Dees. "Through our broadcasts around the world, we intend to motivate the entire global community to join in this massive rebuilding process." Monday’s show happily marks Dees’ first live broadcast since March 2004.

Monday's Digithon will include an all-day SMS promotion raffling off several trips to the Bahamas, powered by Smart SMS and coordinated by Briland.com, with all proceeds supporting the Salvation Army's relief efforts in New Orleans and Louisiana. The award-winning Putumayo World Music label compilations "New Orleans" and "Mississippi Blues" will also be available for sale at rick.com, with 100% of all proceeds going to the Salvation Army.

This first global Digithon, replete with stars from the music, entertainment, and new media world, will join with live, unplugged performances to be streamed to the world on RICK.COM, with terrestrial syndication of the broadcast being coordinated by Michael Horn of CRN Networks, in conjunction with Dees Entertainment.

Says Dees, "I’m proud to note that Monday’s Digithon will be heard in virtually every city in the world, and that we're unleashing the full force and effect of our IPTV broadcasts to touch the lives of the victims of the costliest natural disaster of this generation in the U.S."

KimberlyHi, everyone:
I'm stateside now, and producing a worldwide broadcast (simultaneous radio, Internet, podcasting and SMS text messaging) for top deejay Rick Dees that will air for five hours on 19 September 2005, live from the Digital Hollywood conference being held in Santa Monica CA, which will serve as a fundraiser for the Salvation Army's efforts at assisting victims of Hurricane Katrina.

To that end, I am soliciting hotel and private house accommodations from Harbour Island and Eleuthera that will be raffled off on-air as sweepstakes prizes throughout the broadcast, and hope that you'll be able to offer a suitable weekend package. To that end, I've already gotten commitments from several local homeowners who have offered their rental houses, and resorts who have offered packages for the week as well.

Given that time is of the essence, and that we would really like the promote the trip giveaways, please let me know via return e-mail to info@briland.com whether you can participate in the promotion. If you already have a gift certificate suitable for such promotions, please include as an attached document ... thank you very much!

For more information on Rick Dees, please see www.rick.com.

Thank you for any support that you can offer --
Kimberly
