Fig Tree News TeamResidents and visitors who have lamented the limitations of local markets now have one more reason to love 'Lutra: Tippy's new deli opened this week.

You'll find wonderful smoked meats; French cheeses; gourmet crackers, cookies and candies; flaky croissants; a selection of primarily French and Italian wines not usually found on the island; and a lot more goodies yet to come.

By mid-December they'll have filet mignon, lamb chops and other beef selections.

With the gourmet goodies from Tippy's and the homemade bread, greens and herbs from Island Farm, we now have the best of both worlds: Eleuthera's natural beauty and the kitchen delicacies we enjoyed at home.

The deli is on Banks Road, just north of Tippy's Restaurant. Think it's open from 8 to 3 every day 'cept Saturday. Island Farm, on Queens Highway just south of Palmetto Point, is open 10 to 3.
