Briland's Ma Ruby Percentie received an citation for outstanding contributions to the tourism industry, in awards that were handed out by the Margaret McDonald Policy Centre on Saturday evening festivities at Sandals Resort in Nassau, along with 25 other prominent Bahamians cited for their excellent work on behalf of education, religion, business and culture.

Daughters Juanita and Valerie, sons Elvis and Leaton and granddaughter Jamielynn Catalno were in attendance for the evening's festivities.

Also being honoured for exceptional community service was Lady Margeurite Pindling, Father Laish Boyd, Eris Moncur, Bishop Ross Davis, Dr. Elliston Rahming, and The Hon. Cynthia "Mother" Pratt, deputy prime minister of the Bahamas.

Local hero Calsey Johnson of Hatchet Bay, currently the chair of the Broadcasting Corporation of the Bahamas, was similarly cited for his dedication to community.

The awards were given in observance of the centre's 5th anniversary.

Congratulations, Harbour Island and Eleuthera, for a job well done!
