Fig Tree News TeamThis Saturday, February 3, 2007 @ 10am, the National Art Gallery of The Bahamas will conduct a special workshop for artists led by Rosie Gordon Wallace of Diaspora Vibe Art Gallery, Miami, Florida. This workshop is designed to help artists develop a professional promotional package for grants, fellowships, residencies, funding requests and gallery vetting.

It will cover developing a clear and cogent artist statement, selecting signature images, building curriculum vitae, exploring various media such as slides, digital imagery, websites, I-pods etc. and any other question you may have about launching a career.

Often times, artists and curators are invited to The Bahamas to meet artists and our artists are not prepared for the opportunity. As more and more doors open up, the NAGB would like to know that as professionals, you are prepared to walk through those doors and make things happen for yourself.

Because this is a serious matter, no fee will be charged for this workshop. Register TODAY. It should be a very rewarding workshop for those who attend. Please register with Ms. LuAnn Morris via telephone at the gallery (328.5800/1) or at lmorris@nagb.org.bs.

If you plan to attend, bring in information on your exhibition record, education etc, slides - whatever you have on your work in order to make the workshop as productive as possible.

Sincerely,
Erica M. James
Director
NAGB
