Fig Tree News TeamFormer Briland chief councillor and current central administrator in Grand Bahama Harvey Roberts writes:

Mr. Newell Percentie died on Saturday last week in Nassau. As many at will recall, Newell played in The Percentie Brothers Band during the days when they performed at Pink Sands. He played the bass, and was the son of Herman Percentie.

Our hearts go out to daughters Luchie and Hamburga, a host of family and friends, and to Tony Percentie, the sole remaining member of the fabulous performing Percentie Brothers calypso band.
