|Fig Tree News Team||Hello Mrs Burns,
It is with great pleasure that I read your notification. It takes a village to raise a child. This is as true a statement as can be.
With the help of the Harbour Island community and her family, WE raised us a wonderful child. One that is truly blessed and loved.
There is hope for our young people, if the village does not stop working.
May God continue to bless you in the work that you are doing.
Monique Hanna (Darronique's Mom)
Please see below some of her accomplishments for this year.
(1) May 2008- Ran in the international Dekalab meet Atlanta Georgia (2 years straight, 1st year set a record in the 400m 2007)
(2) June 2008- Prom Queen graduated Kingsway Academy
(3) August 2008- Won Miss Teen Bahamas World (Theodore Elliots Pageant)
(4) October 2008- Won Miss Teen Mundial(World) 2008 Arequipa Peru
I promise to keep you updated after all she is a child of the island's soil.

|Fig Tree News Team||Congratulations to Richie "The Ice Man" and Pauline "Best 3rd Grade Teacher Ever" Young, and their proud son Darron!
Darronique Young, the winner of Theodore Elyett's Miss Teen Bahamas World pageant travelled to Peru last week to compete in the Miss Teen World pageant and walked away Miss Teen World 2008-09.
This young lady deserves our congratulations, and I hope it is highlighted in the local newspapers. Far too often The Bahamas fails to recognize the positive things taking place among young people in the country.
