BluestarsDoes taking lobster require a fishing license? Also, does fishing in the Bahamas anywhere require a fishing license? How about for bone fishing?

Fig Tree News TeamSince many of you have asked offlist about the rules of collecting lobster/crawfish off of Harbour Island and other islands in the harbour, here's a summary:

Lobster or Crawfish:
Six tails per person, at any time.
Annual closed season is April 1 to July 31.
Minimum size limits are 3-3/8 inch carapace length or six inches tail length.
Egg-bearing female crawfish are protected.
Spearing is illegal within 200 years [yes, two football fields] of the beach.
Six crawfish per person may be exported from The Islands Of The Bahamas.
