|Fig Tree News Team||First-ever Bahamas Junkanoo Tribute to the Miami Dolphins
Presented by the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, in tandem with Briland Management
1 (one) - 6 minute halftime show/parade of an authentic Bahamian Junkanoo Troupe of a minimum of 230 performers, fully costumed, including authentic Banner Pieces, Lead Pieces, Frame Dancers and Off-the-Shoulder Display Pieces and Free Style Dancers representing the Best of the Bahamian Junkanoo Groups, coordinated and directed by Mr. Quinton "Barabbas" Woodside of Nassau, Bahamas and Mr. Langston Longley of Miami, Florida.
Courage Band of Harbour Island, Bahamas will perform their original song written for the Miami Dolphins, the "Dolphin Hustle," which will coordinate with the Junakanoo Troupe as part of the show. Also participating in the halftime show are members of our very own youth band, the Harbour Island Youth Junkanoo Troupe under the direction of the unflappable Cpl. Howie Pinder.
Musical instruments to include: authentic Junkanoo Brass section, Bellers, Goat Skin and Tom-Tom Drummers and Horn Blowers. There will be a total of 230 performers.
All performers will be costumed with a minimum of 60 outfitted in the official Dolphin colors of Turquoise, Orange and White. The theme of the event is a "Bahamas Tribute to the Miami Dolphins" with the annual Celebration of Bahamian Culture - Junkanoo.
