KimberlyWe saw the exceptional Hogheads ** Eardley Johnson, Gregory Higgs, Lorenz Hutchison ** in action at the newly-expanded Valentine's Yacht Club Reach Bar on Wednesday evening. The band plays regularly on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, 6-8:00p (until 10:00p if there's a crowd) at the very comfortable, well-appointed Reach.

The Hoghead's newly-expanded lineup includes the venerable Troy Higgs and Wade Stewart of the Brilanders on guitar, rake and scrape, percussion and and vocals, and Alex Barry on horn. Local appetizers are available in the bar, and reservations are of course accepted for dinner in the brand-new teak dining room next door.

In other news, the classic calypso veterans Native Sons return to the Pink Sands Bar on Thursdays and Saturdays at 7:30p.

As a matter of fact, both cool island bands are available for private affairs as well ... e-mail for contact information.

The Bottom Harbour Club remains closed, and we very much miss the Sunday afternoon sunset dustups featuring the Brilanders. Owner Leon Johnson is interested in leasing the club to a new management team.

Happy holidays ...
