Harbour Island

Since our last letter to you and your generous contributions, the park now boasts a tennis court, basketball court, four (4) sets of bleachers, and a steel building (30x30), which houses boys and girls bathrooms, a confectionary area and storage.

Steps have been constructed at the entrance and a number of persons have kindly donated trees for the landscaping.

Every evening the park is filled with laughter and fun. Children, young and old competing to “dunk” the basketball while another group is “serving” on the tennis court.

Unfortunately, this camaraderie cannot continue long into the evening as the park does not have lights. Underground trenching, poles for lights and a transformer are still needed.

We have exhausted our funds, and are now appealing to your generosity to help complete the lighting, landscaping, children’s play area, walking path and maintenance.

This year, Travel and Leisure voted Harbour Island the #1 destination but to you and us, it’s home. No more garbage dump with toxic smoke billowing over the island, but a park we are all proud of, where families gather to play in a healthy atmosphere.

This is our park, yours and Briland’s. Come visit and play.

Make an investment in your home, or holiday island for some of you, by giving generously so that we can all say “Look what we did.”

Checks can be made payable to BRILAND PARK, per the address above, (It’s a tax write-off!!!). Enquiries may be made through our email address.

Please give this gift of hope, as this park is imperative to the survival (yes, survival) of our Briland youth.

Let’s make this a very Merry Christmas for all.
