chapelFundación Taiguey is organizing the first Caribbean Community Regional Workshop, being held July 20-22, 2006 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The workshop will gather around 40 practitioners from 35 Caribbean countries, with the objective to create a regional wide framework of exchange, learning and collective action, in order contribute to their strengthening as a tool for the human development of the rural and/or urban marginal communities.

Kimberly King-Burns, executive director of the Briland Modem Fund, will be presenting details of the public/private sector community computer centre network currently in place throughout Eleuthera and Cat Island, which group's first centre was launched in Harbour Island in 1999 in tandem with Comm. Rufus Johnson and the Harbour Island District Council. For more information, see www.brilandmodemfund.com.

Details of the upcoming conference can be found at www.taiguey.org/CTW.
