|Fig Tree News Team||We cordially invite you to join us at our semi-annual
Island School Research Symposium
Saturday, June 9th, 2007
The Island School
Cape Eleuthera, The Bahamas
Over the course of the semester, Island School students develop research skills and become scientists. Working collaboratively with each other and with outside partners, they study solutions to pertinent, ‘real world’ challenges in The Bahamas.
Our Research Program continues to grow in the depth and variety of topics. This semester we have eight research groups:
shark habitat use
population dynamics of juvenile reef fish
flats ecosystems ecology
local knowledge and use of medicinal plants
The Research Symposium provides a forum for students to present their results and discoveries to government officials, scholars, and our supporters. This is an exciting time for our community to celebrate the many successes of the semester.
We hope you can join us.
