Fig Tree News TeamKnowles, Nestor win men's French doubles

PARIS, June 9 (UPI) -- Mark Knowles, of Nassau, Bahamas, and Daniel Nestor rallied Saturday, beating Lukas Dlouhy and Pavel Vizner 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 to capture the 2007 French Open men's doubles title.

The long-time doubles stalwarts captured their first-ever title at Roland Garros in their seventh Grand Slam final appearance.

Knowles and Nestor clinched the winning break of serve at 4-4 in the third set when Nestor hit a backhand return off the team's fourth break point chance to break Dlouhy.

The sixth-seeded duo has won the U.S. and Australian Opens.

"We're getting the best out of each other," Nestor said. "Our whole career we've strived to win the French Open, Wimbledon, all the Grand Slams. We've got three out of four, and there's no reason why we can't make it four out of four at Wimbledon."

The ninth-seeded Dlouhy and Vizner, natives of the Czech Republic, had an impressive run to the final, shocking the top-seeded American Bryan brothers Tuesday.
