island ladyWallace and team have done such a n excellent job restoring the old Catholic school's lower grade school. A really pretty place for a really pretty island. Love the lobster BLT, man.

Fig Tree News TeamBriland.com correspondent Kate Carnes of Chicago posts:

"I've been catching up on my all-important magazine reading over the past week and have noticed a few mentions of the Rock House and Harbour Island in some hip & trendy mags:"

******************************

February Travel & Leisure - Wallace Tutt (who designed the Gianni Versace mansion) just cut the ribbon on this tiny hotel's total makeover. The former schoolhouse, set on a cliff on Harbour Island high above the Atlantic, has taken on the elegance of a plantation manse. The nine airy guest rooms, however, are only half the appeal: massages are given in a cabana by the pool, horseback rides follow the shore, an chartered yachts take guest deep-sea fishing. The chef will pack a picnic for two, then send couples to one of the island's deserted pink-sand beaches.

February Vogue - Heat Wave: The Out Islands of the Bahamas are suddenly in.

...up on enchanting Harbour Island, Rock House is a new ten-room inn with a chic little pool where every hotel guest gets a private cabana. The property also boasts two restaurants, a happening bar, and a growing list of fans, among them George Hamilton, Barry Diller, and Diane von Furstenberg.
