Fig Tree News TeamGently used computers badly needed! Thank you to all of you who have already donated hardware and software to the cause: The Bluff Centre in North Eleuthera needs your used PCs and laptops to refurbish and use to provide computer training to youth, single moms and others in need.

You can take a U.S. tax donation credit for anything you contribute, and the machines will be completely wiped clean of data before use. Can you help us?

Let's all step up to the bar for this great program. Please ship to Darrel Johnson, Chief Councillor, Harbour Island District Council, c/o Briland Modem Fund Computers, Harbour Island, Bahamas (email, so that we can coordinate import duty and stamp tax before stuff arrives!

Fig Tree News TeamBriland Modem Fund update
The Bluff Community Computer Centres Need Your Help!

All ten computers in the Bluff community centre have burned up as result of the recent BEC brownouts, and the Briland Modem Fund urgently requests your generous donation of hardware, software replacements, see details online at

This is the only bilingual (English/Kryol) centre in our network, and supports a proud, enthusiastic but poor struggling farming community in North Eleuthera: thanks for your support!

(Check the earnest dude fixing a CPU with the butter knife, our very own Raheem Johnson: Bahamians are so resourceful!)
