Fig Tree News TeamAlfred "Bulla" Albury was a Bahamian legend, and made his transition on Saturday 28 September. He was preceded in death by his wonderful wife Lou Dell and second daughter Kimlyn, and is survived by his loving daughters Nora and Tessie, and a host of friends of relatives.

Mr. Bulla worked on The Contract in the USA during WWII, taking care of stateside farms as their American owners fought overseas. Upon his return to Harbour Island, he used his savings to build a community bar on Colebrooke Lane that was the flashpoint of the Bahamian independence movement. He later developed apartment complexes and a laundromat for the community, and was always eager to share a historical reference a two. A nicer man I have never known, and his children are a testament to his optimistic nature.

Memorial services will be announced as soon as details are confirmed, but he was a longtime active member of the Lighthouse Church of God.
