Fig Tree News TeamSorry, guy ... we've been slow in posting news this week thanks to work at Batelco slowing Internet access to a 14.4 baud crawl.

The library renovation effort is coming along brilliantly ... 45 computers courtesy of Rotary Club East Nassau have arrived, and are being shuttled to their new community center homes in James Cistern, Hatchet Bay, Bluff, Lower Bogue and Gregory Town ... the Briland computer center gets a visit today from the Police Commission, Rotary Club East Nassau, ZNS-13 and the Nassau Tribune ... Captain Swanson played 'Amazing Grace' on his bagpipes at the government dock at noon ... The Dunmore School received further donations of software and hardware this week ... The Fig Tree News Team wishes Mr. Alfred Albury of Albury's Laundry a speedy recovery from his recent fall ... James Leggett, shark trainer extraordinaire at Ocean Fox Dive Shop was interviewed this week for a Discovery Channel showcase ... Computer guru Letario Higgs completed classwork at Windermere High School in Eleuthera, and is looking forward to entering College of the Bahamas this September. He celebrated his feat by building a local area network at the Briland computer center ... Marty Saunders and Robert Davis of local equestrian fame were featured this week in a Briland documentary produced by a team from San Diego ... the brand-new organ donated by James Dickey to the Wesley Methodist Church sounds exceptional ... thanks to sand kickups courtesy of Tropical Storm Ana in the immediate Caribbean, snorkelling and SCUBA at the various hot spots on Harbour Island has been a bit on the murky side ... Loretta's Souse House offers up a great bowl of chicken souse ... Kayla Black at TJ's hair salon is THE person to see for great braiding.
