Fig Tree News TeamThe Professional Photographers of the Bahamas along with the Bahamas Guild of Artists invites all Professional Artists to attend a very special meeting on Tuesday April 29th. at Government House at 7pm.

The proposed Professional Artist Bill which incorporates all aspects and activities of the various disciplines of the arts ranging from, music, photography, videography, graphic and web design, writers, poets, choreographers, and other related fields into a collective and unified voice adding lobbying strength towards a common cause. This bill proposes to regulate the industry both nationally and internationally.

The tenets of this bill provide provisions for the registration, qualification and licensing of all artist and their assistants along with a code of ethics among other requirements, Ways will be discussed to assist in providing protection for artist under the proposed FTAA requirements.

Speakers at this meeting will be: Mr. Obie Ferguson, (President TUC Union,) Ms. Cherita Symonette (Higgs & Johnson) ....... along with Kenneth Love, CPP.

This is the first meetings planned to discuss the bill and the various challenges presented under the FTAA.
