Best wishes to all true sons and daughters of Abaco on the 30th. anniversary of your independence. (And it's a good day to "dance" as well!) The author of the National Anthem, Timothy Gibson, died in 1978, but I personally find his words much more inspiring to the people and the children than a poem about bombs bursting in air sung to the tune of "To Anacreaon in Heaven", an old English drinking song:

Lift up your head to the rising sun, Bahamaland;

March on to glory, your bright banners waving high.

See how the world marks the manner of your bearing!

Pledge to excel through love and unity.

Pressing onward, march together to a common loftier goal;

Steady sunward, though the weather hide the wide and treacherous shoal.

Lift up your head to the rising sun, Bahamaland;

Till the road you've trod Lead unto your God, ...

March on, Bahamaland!
