JudyBe on the look out for the Library's roving reporter, Godfrey Kelly. He has been roaming the Island since the July 9 asking people to share their feelings and reflections on the Bahamas' 30 years of Independence. Has he stopped you lately for your input? The Library Committee is collecting these tapes to add to the Archives' collection of Oral Histories. Think back, where were you 30 years ago when the Commonwealth of the Bahamas' flag was raised for the first time? What were you thinking or feeling? Was it a happy time? Did you cry or perhaps feel sad with the change? Has Independence been good for the people and the country? In the years to come your children and grandchildren can hear your thoughts and add theirs to the collection!
Help us as we preserve the heritage of Harbour Island's people. Tell Godfrey you would like to be next!!
Each person on this island is part of Harbour Island's history. You have a story to tell. Please help us build this resource for the island... May God continue to bless this beautiful place and its people.
