JudyWhat an incredible day Saturday is going to be. Wow! We are so pleased to announce that Jim and Ann Lawlor, Dr. Paul Albury's daughter and son-in-law are coming from Nassau to lead the History of Harbour Island segment at noon-1 p.m. At 11 am, "Pirate Lore" will be presented in the Reference Room - this will be exciting. All day long a photo exhibit featuring Barbara Young's photos of families and scenes of Harbour Island will be on display in the North Wing. The Royal Bahamas Police will be represented well by our new inspector, Mr. Higgs, who will be reading, Strong to the Hoop, and Constable Clark reading, On Granddad's Back at 10:30 a.m. The readers are wonderful this year. Then from 3 to 5 p.m. older folks from the community will be "telling their stories" and recollections of Harbour Island to be taped and housed in the Library for later generations to hear.
This is going to be a great day for books, reading, and heritage. March 27th, this Saturday. Be a part of it!
