Cheaper by Cell than By Land Line [AT&T] From U.S. to Harbour Island

As of now, Wednesday 13 December, one can make cellular calls INTO the Bahamas FROM the U.S. at .65/minute after signing up for the Direct Dialing International plan at $5.85/per month. This is quite a bit less expensive than the AT&T land phone costs of $1.79/min 8:00a-11:00p, $1.49 11:00p-8:00a rate for calling the Bahamas from the U.S. So you can call INTO the Bahamas, but you still cannot call out via the same mechanism. AT&T says that they're working to develop this capability with Batelco.
