To tell the truth, I just plug the computer into the wall and have never worried about it. We connect using our standard connections (aol, earthlink, netcom) and dial into a Miami number. Others may disagree with me about the surge protector, but those who know me know I live dangerously anyway (grin).
Just remember, per minute phone charges can run pretty high.
