Reports just in from Natasha/Island Real Estate and Richard/Dunmore Cottage confirm that the brand-new tree is finally sprouting some buds, and looks to be shaking off the winter cold that had many locals concerned that the new tree would be unable to 'take' to its new island home.
The new-to-Harbour Island fig tree is fully-grown and stands about twenty feet tall, and resides in the shadow of the centuries-old fig tree that was lost in 1999's Hurricane Floyd.
