I think a lot more *does* need to be discussed to prevent any further erosion to the offshore financial industry that has been so kind to the Bahamas.
The necessity for changes in the financial services sector were long overdue and adherence to international standards will only assure greater success for the Bahamas.
However, the tremendous potential for e-Commerce in the Bahamas is almost dependant on the advantages of a low-tax or no-tax environment. It would be most unwise to negotiate that advantage away. Or worse yet, be bullied into it.
