: Hi,

: I've been to Harbour Island several times (staying in hotels) and am seriously considering renting a house there for an extended period (4-6 months, possibly longer). My question is can anyone give me an idea of the practicalities of living on the Island? Can you get reasonably easy access to basics like milk, fresh meat and veg etc?

: A few people I've spoken to said if there's anything you can't get from the local stores, then you can go to Spanish Wells for a wider selection, where there is a bigger supermarket. Is this easy to do? How far away is it? Is transportation easy to organise?

: How do you get household appliances repaired?

: I realise that living somewhere like Harbour Island is not going to be like living in a big town, and I'm happy to give up the supposed "conveniences" in return for a more peaceful, relaxed life. I'd appreciate it if anyone could give me a rundown on the things I'll need to remember to do, or take into account in every day life on the Island.

: Thanks for any help.

: James
