Twenty years bring many changes everywhere including Harbour Island BUT the article you mention does NOT sound like the island I left a few weeks ago. Yes, the island has been discovered and yes, there are more houses, golf carts, and cars, but the essential elements like the pink sand beach and welcoming people remain the same. NEVER heard of Sloppy Joes.Visitors CAN now get to the island via a fast ferry from Nassau but most still fly into North Eleuthera via commercial airlines and most do NOT come from Mahattan.
