Jah, all ist mucho gut ... und Ihnen? Wie gehts? Thanks for your great note! I'm just back from a short while on the island, supporting several of the community technology centers happening locally, and I can assure you that they can ALWAYS, always, always use secondhand computers as long as they're at least lower Pentium-level speed. Let me know what you've got, and we can figure out whether to send them to Harbour Island, Bluff, Gregory Town or Governor's Harbour. Palmetto Point is also hoping to get a few too, so let me know. I'd really like to get the Bluff Center built out first, though ... we only have three setups over there, and there is SO much enthusiasm for the training there. 60 folks from all over Eleuthera, Abaco and Harbour Island came in for the recent IBM intensive workshops, so there's quite a good buzz going about now. And oh, yes .... the books would be much appreciated, especially were they to target teenagers, young adults and adults! The island's in the middle of completely revamping the library, and so such support would be very much appreciated. Let me know how we can help you coordinate. We worked so hard on the IBM training and center transition these past few weeks that I'm ashamed to admit that the overall intake of Mount
Gay and Cocksbur was at best minimal. Much scored conch from Queen Conch, however, saved the day time and time and time again . And
thank God for Miz Jacqueline's orange-grapefruit ice cups.
Jawohl, zie Party Man ees trying jes' a little too hard these days, but at least he's not being abusive to locals. [At least, not on the Board.]
