1) Filming in the Bahamas:
Tapestry productions began filming "The Last Family Vacation" featuring the Olsen twins this month. The feature stars Mary- Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen and is being directed by Steve Purcell. Mary-Kate and Ashley Fuller Olsen, also referred to as the "Olsen Twins" or the "Trenchcoat Twins" were born on June 13, 1986 . The Olsen twins are best known for their role in the hit comedy series "Full House". In addition to Full House, the twins have also released music albums, hit-selling video series, made TV movies, a big screen movie, and have been in many guest appearances. Aside from all these credits, they're the youngest performers ever to receive quadruple platinum music video certification and #1 music video on Billboard's Chart for their very first video, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen: Our First Video. Currently, filming is taking place at The Atlantis and in New Providence, The Bahamas.
2) Digital Production mobile unit:
The Broadcasting Corporation of The Bahamas new 1.3 million dollar 40-foot state-of-the-art mobile unit is now available for major productions in The Bahamas. Equipped with six digital cameras, a comprehensive production switcher and the latest in computer graphics, the mobile unit has the capability to easily produce large and complex outside location broadcasts. 3) Bimini Now On-line: Location images both above and below The Bimini Islands are presented in the on-line photo library of Bimini. Being surrounded by the world's clearest water the library offers a variety of location images including underwater views of marine life. Be sure to check out Bimini on-line at www.bahahamasfilm.com/bimini
4) CAT ISLAND GOING ON-LINE: With the help of the Bahamas Promotional Board and photographer Greg Johnston, our location library once again will be expanding. Cat Island's topography includes rolling hills and ancient caves with a hermitage at its peak and will go live this August. Look for Cat Island in our photo libraries section soon.
5) Permitting on-line - The Bahamas Film Commission is currently working on making a new section of the website that will allow permitting requests to be automated on-line.
