August is here and the heat is on! August 1st marks the beginning of the
Bahamian crawfish or lobster season, so if you're visiting this month be
sure to try our local delicacy in any of our great restaurants. This month
also features the Cat Island Regatta and the Great Abaco Beach Resort
Triathlon. Get out there and have some fun!

FOX HILL FESTIVAL
[Nassau/Paradise Island]
Historic Fox Hill Village celebrates Emancipation with two weeks of
festivities, culminating on August 14 with Fox Hill Day.


AUGUST 5 - 9
FAMILY FISHING TOURNAMENT

This event will be a fun, family four-day fishing tournament, which include

EMANCIPATION DAY
[The Islands of The Bahamas]
A public holiday. The first Monday in August commemorates the emancipation
of slavery in 1834. In Nassau, Fox Hill Village is the focus of Emancipation
festivities. Here, an early morning Junkanoo festival takes place at 1:00
am, followed by afternoon of Œcook-outs) (sale of native foods) and cultural
