A well-organized tropical wave in the eastern Atlantic and an area of disturbed weather near the Bahamas are both drawing the
attention of the National Hurricane Center this morning.

In the eastern Atlantic, a westward-moving tropical wave is located about 650 miles west-southwest of the Cape Verde Islands.

Although there is little associated thunderstorm activity, this system remains well organized. Conditions are favorable for
slow development, and a tropical depression may form during the next couple of days.

In the western Atlantic, cloudiness and showers extend northeastward from the Bahamas into the Atlantic for several hundred
miles.

Although upper-level winds appear to be favorable for development, surface pressures remain high and there are no signs of
tropical cyclone formation at this time.
