Michelle, Eleuthera Report.

Right now John the constant overcast skies have set in. Its a gloomy light grey atmosphere here, the likes of which is usual in such weather conditions of hurricanes. The winds are quite calm at present blowing constantly at about seven or eight knots. Seas are quite calm as the constant rain sets in. The visibility is down to about half a mile over the land scape from this vantage point and the cool stormy weather of a hurricane is taking shape. It will continue like this, calm, rainy and overcast until the hurricane arrives if in fact it will. We are hoping that it doesn't but all probability is that it will sometime on Monday mid day or early Tuesday morning. We're hoping for the best in conditions. We are really weary of another Hurricane Floyd.

In addition to the weather home owners are alert to the coming of Hurricane Michelle and are taking the necessary precautions in securing their homes. Many vehicles have gathered in the community with the assistance of the local construction boys and are making their way through out the community assisting the needy in battening up their homes and windows. Many people are prepared this time for the hurricane and are taking the recommended precautions. Unfortunately some people are not prepared and will sit the storm out in hopes of nothing major happening.

We're here in the cool, rainy weather, low visibility and we'll have to see and take precautions once the storm does hit our island and hope for the best to occur. We're praying for a miracle of saftey unlike during hurricane Floyd and are hoping that everyone fairs OK. We're as prepared as we can be during today and tomorrow. The chance to batten up may be cut off after today because of the constant rains. Hopefully we'll be OK if nothing like a Tornado is spurned up in the middle of the hurricane area once it does arrive. We have had such tornado activity before a few years ago.

Pray that everything goes alright here.
More news from Tarpum Bay, Eleuthera, Bahamas later today.
