I spoke tonight with friends in Nassau who said they had been without power for 24 hours, and had received about 10" rain through it all. They said a radio station had interviewed the commissioner on Harbour Island: No one hurt, some damage (but I didn't get the feel for how much) including a house whose roof was blown off. We speculated this house was on the bay side. All phone lines down---which explains of course why Kimberly can't get a message out. I expect it will be tomorrow before we have the first solid news.
