I'd had at least two messages filter to me about Chacarra being closed. So in-character. I really strongly ask everyone to buy from Thompson's Plumbing, even if the price is higher. Chacara has no spirit of community, sells cheap #3 grade hardware from Miami, and would never inconvenience themselves to work for the community in a hurricane. I hope this gives Bernice a huge boost.
I am seriously thinking about a campaign which you'd probably not allow on the board called "Things We Can Do to Support Thompson's Hardware Business" This would be where we all go on board and post the things we'd PROMISE to buy from Pork if he'd stock them, like cans of black "heat resistant" grill spray pain you used to bring down in your cooler from Home Depot, 5" hook & eyes for storm shutters that are hard to find even at Home Depot, a huge selection of T hinges (same purpose: storm shutters) ---paint, galore, and none of it the shit that Chacara stocks. The list is endless.
