I had also spoken with Al. I really think that someone at the company, probably McKinley, took it on himself to do this without telling his sales guys (Al). The person who took my order, Scott, (named in one of the posts about Outfitter) told me to put the discount info mention briland modem on the cover sheet of the fax, so he had obviously heard about it. Your help is appreciated it is a significant discount.

In any case, sat phones at $1.49/ min are a good deal. We used one of the previous Iridium s phones in Africa, and the phone cost $3K and time was $7/min. You must know how often the phones are down on HI, particularly during the season. As I fly my plane into North Eleuthera, I need to talk with US Customs by phone prior to re-entering US airspace. This has often been difficult, and once I had to land at Marsh Harbour just to make a phone call! Batelco says they are maxed out and are not putting in more capacity.

Do you own a house on HI?
