Jef is alive, well and working, although he has gone to the US for this coming week. It is truly unfortunate that his competitors have chosen this rather underhanded and nasty path to compete with an operation known for its friendly personal service and unparalleled skill. Perhaps Valentine's could try a more conventional competitive strategy: improve their service.
