It is the dawning of my twenty fifth year on Briland, and I have just gotten back to New York City after ten days of holiday holiday holiday. . . I hate leaving Harbour Island. It is a sadness so great that takes me from the place where I feel most at home in the world, one that brings question to all the things in my life which feel unnecessary and meaningless. As I grow up and seem to be spending more and more of my time down on the island I can't help but dream of ways I can continue to be there for longer and longer. I really just want to say thank you. Thank you to the beach, thank you to the tide for it's constant change and it's dependent rhythm, thank you to my friends who never fail to share a kind gesture and a swinging booty (and a damn dependent rhythm too), thank you to the music (especially funk gang and courage) which taught me how to move and express myself, thank you to the familiar faces and places which never cease to provide greetings and entertainment, thank you to the island for providing a place my family can be together, and most of all thank you all, each bit of your world, for giving me a place where I can be myself and enjoy my time whether it is alone or with the sweetest friends in the world.
