: We are planning our first trip to the Harbor Island ,Spanish Wells area by Sail Boat . So
: we have LOTS of questions . Please feel free to give or send any advice or information
: on this area , Right now I’m asking about The Devil’s Backbone passage , According
: to our Cruising guide , The Explorer charts , it is a good idea to hire a pilot for this part
: of the trip ?? Can anyone suggest someone ? How much dose a pilot usually charge ?
: How far in NM is it from Spanish Wells to Harbor Island . If you use a pilot to go
: from SW to HT how does he get back home ? Any & all help welcome & appreciated .
: Thanks Michael
Yes you need a guide. I would suggest A-1 Broadshide 242-333-4427. It is about 14 miles. You take the boat from Spanish Well to HI over the devils backbone. Nice ride. Cost 100 to 150 dollars. Tell A1 I gave you his name. I caught 50 snapper with him 2 days ago.
