Hi Michael,

There are several pilot services listed in the "Yachtsman Guide to The Bahamas". I have used Edsel Roberts of Spanish Wells Pilot Service twice and was very pleased with him. He has spent his life on the water around SW. In June 2000, his fee was $65.00 each way. At that time he was about 75 years young - and the most energetic, interesting, and spry man that you would ever encounter. He ties his boat to yours, takes your helm and takes you to your dock space or anchorage at HI and uses his boat to return.

I might be tempted to take a shallow draft boat through if it were not for bad weather conditions. But good sense would dictate using someone with extensive local knowledge the first time in any conditions.

You may e-mail me if I can help.

: of the trip ?? Can anyone suggest someone ? How much dose a pilot usually charge ?
: How far in NM is it from Spanish Wells to Harbor Island . If you use a pilot to go
: from SW to HT how does he get back home ? Any & all help welcome & appreciated .
