Dear people of Briland,
I am 15 years old and attend Harbour Island All Age School.I am writng this letter to talk to the native of Harbour Island, to recognize the mistakes of their fathers, they sold land to foreigners and the affects of doing so are showing now.
I was truly happy to hear that they didn't go through with the project they were talking about on girls bay.I remember the days my cousin and some other friends played there.Like Otis said, it was a place where you didn't have to worry about cars or getting knocked down, we would go in the sea or fish.I am glad that the natives of Briland voted against it.I know it would have been good for the economy, but what about the future, what about the next generation, where are they going to live, the way Briland is going now, there will probably be no land for the next generation to build on.Everything on Briland is being bought, not by natives, but by foreigners that think Briland is the best place in the world, which I agree on. They aren't thinking about the future of the natives.We, as natives of the Island should come together, unite as one to for the next generation, which is very important.Think of this as a cry for the Island to think about the future and the affects of the Island.
