If you are asking about Inmarsat MiniM...
The best rate on MiniM hardware rental is $150 per month with every fourth month free. Airtime is $2.50 per minute flat global.
If you are asking about Globalstar...
Globalstar would be suitable for customers in the Bahamas and would work in marine applications. Hardware rental is as specified ($150 per month and fourth month free). The rental airtime rate is $1.59 per minute (Home Zone). However, we have a special Globalstar Preferred Customer plan for affiliate groups such as Briland which is only $15.95 per month and $1.39 per minute. This rate would apply for a customer that purchases his ner or used Globalstar equipment from us. It is also possible for a rental customer to get that rate applied to his rental Globalstar equipment (signing the rate plan is required and there is a 4 month term requirement).
If you are asking about Iridium...
A special Briland Modem Affiliate Iridium rate plan has already been set up for Iridium customers identifying themselves as affiliated with Briland Modem. This rate plan is $18.95 per month, $1.39 per minute (Basic Rate to any public switched telephone number, excepting Inmarsat), and $0.89 per minute for Iridium-Iridium calls. Those are great rates. FYI, a true rechargable prepaid Iridium card will be available by early June and that may also be of interest to Briland Modem affiliates. This will replace our current prepaid offering using a calling card platform.
Outfitter still has refurbished Iridium 9500's at $695 (standard kit) while supplies last and as an added benefit, a refurbished Iridium pager is only $99 if purchased with the phone. That is a great deal. New and refurbished Iridium 9505s are also available.
We have a great offer on ECI Iridium systems which support multiple handsets/PBX. These are very popular for marine craft and remote beach houses needing PBX via satellite. The ECI is $2350 new or can be rented for 3+ month committments for $599 for the first month and $399 each month thereafter. A ECI rental customer can apply part of their rental fees against purchasing the equipment and qualify for the Briland Modem Affiliate Iridium rate plan.
