It is interesting to note that during the PLP reign, drug smugglers owned islands and operated with impunity in the Bahamas. Only when the US Government threatened an indictment of the PM was the DEA and other US Agencies allowed to operate inside the Bahama's borders.
While I'm sure smuggling still exists in the Bahamas, the US and many other countries, I haven't seen any of the scandals during the FNM adminisration as compared to PLP days.
It is intersting how this dark part of Bahamian history is continually ignored.
And, yes, I admit that without US customers, there would be no drug smuggling in the Bahamas.
