GOd bless you and your able crew of men! The rapid, skilled response you provided set the tone for cooperation and hard work that restored Harbour Island after Hurricane Andrew. You really must return some day...Nature has her ways, and the island may be more beautiful than ever! "Farcliff," our ocean front property, was dealt a devastating blow, and yet there were others even worse. We came in to assess damage and secure the property as soon as the N. Eleuthera airport reopened and I took countless rolls of film, but that was pre-digital cameras, so everything is in print, and the majority of those are in albums on the island. I do have a few representative pictures here in the States, though, and will try to scan them and email them to you. Depending on when your presentation is scheduled, I would be glad to have duplicates made and sent to you...it is the least I can do! I think I may even have a distant picture of your ship, laying off the north end of the island. Let me know how these "come across"--I will drop the resolution to 70 to reduce the size of the files some, but if your server can handle it, I can send them at 150. I am sending a few tonight--let me know if you need more!

: Hi,

: My name is Richard Leaman and I was the Captain of the British Destroyer HMS CARDIFF, in 1992, when Hurricane Andrew hit North Eleuthera, and we were tasked to provide humanitarian relief (medical aid, roofing, power supplies and so on)in the early days after the storm passed through. I have been asked to give a presentation on the relief effort and I have virtually no photos to show ( I was a bit too busy to take any at the time!)of the damage the winds caused. Does anyone out there have any photos I can access, or can be sent to me at this e-address? I am still in the Royal Navy and hope one day to get back out there, to see how the island is now, and to meet some of those of you I met during the relief effort. But in the meantime, any photos yopu have of the storm damage would be very gratefully received! Kind regards, Commodore Richard Leaman OBE, Director, Royal Navy Communications.
