If you wish to witness the demise of a thriving Bahamamian community, please approve the propsed development of the Girls Harbour. Harbor Island is a pristine resort where tourists and natives enjoy a beautiful, profitable relationship. While there is possibly room for
change and development in Eleuthera, a project with the environmental impact that this one presents may have momentary benefits, but the destruction of the natural environment will be long lived and possibly irreparable.

It seems evident from this message board that the natives are averse to this development, and I'm sure that if all tourists could be reached they would be appalled and desparate to stop the destruction of the beautiful natural environment they have come to enjoy.

If the developers of this project are anxious to improve their possibilities of profit in The Eleuthera's, possibly they could explore funding improvement of the Glass Widow Bridge which would benefit permanent residents of Eleuthera and avail them to development of areas which would not be so destructive of the environment and allow them to realize profits in areas which would benefit the local population as well as their pockets.

While I wish that things could always remain the same, I realize change is inevitable. However, people must be strong and fight for change that is positive for them.

I have no vote in Briland, but I hope the residents have the strength to fight for the maintenance of the life they currently live. Believe me, there is no greener grass.
