Calling All Island Geeks: Can You Help Us Out?

We've got some 'sick' equipment in the computer center, and wanted to check in with our geek friends around the world to see whether you can suggest a course of action to correct these problems. We don't have any available tech support on the island right now, which is why we're coming to you for a community talkback. Thanks for any assistance that you can offer .. and please hurry. Current IBM veteran and computer center manager Don Savage is leaving at the end of next week, so we'd really be happy to get these problems taken care of before he heads out.

Here's what's wrong:

1) One system unit that will not support the mouse - Warwick thinks it is a problem in the attachment card.
2) One system unit where we cannot reload Windows - Letario gets it to a given point in the process, and then he says it hangs up trying to access the CD drive, I think for the "first time". He's not sure what the problem is.
3) One display where some of the "video controls", like the "trapezoid correction", are not functioning, so you get a distorted image.
4) One IBM display that works fine for about 30 minutes, then starts acting up - poor picture, strange looking pointer.

Any ideas, thoughts, suggestions before we have to haul in the big guns from Nassau for some help?

Thanks --
Kimberly, Naomi and Ann
Otis, Warwick, Letario and Chang
