Satellite Outfitters and the Briland Modem

Love the site. I own Sunrise down on the beach next to Jef Fox. For a number of months I have been seeing posts by Outfitter Satellite offfering deals to briland modem readers. I assumed that someone friendly to the island was trying to be benevolent to fellow beach lovers. I purchased a phone from them and noted the many discounts mentioned in the posts (most recently 10/10/01). Outfitter Satellite says they don't know anything about the briland modem, even though the owner is listed on the post by name. Do you know Jim McKinley or know the origins of the briland modem posts? If this is a scam, then I would like to alert anyone considering buying a phone from them.

By the way, this "partyman" is an embarrassment to the island. It would be nice to find a way to keep him off the board.
