Cutlass Bay? - (Tingum Village too, but a different focus)

Hi,
Just saw a bit of the posting regarding the Cutlass Bay (and Paradise Island) incident. To echo the PM; IS this for real? I suspect it is, although the rate of crime will vary from island to island, I suppose. If Kerzner's actions really took place, it's interesting (actually, heartbreaking) to see who runs things in the Bahamas. Why should one potentially get killed because of their anti-crime stance?
Assuming I am still not in danger of travelling to the Bahamas, and can express my abhorrence for Kerzner-Crystal Palace type resorts, what is the Tingum Village like? I just saw a site and it looks very affordable. Is it a nice place?
Thanks for your help! And I'm not trying to lay on any implications about the Bahamas. But I'm hoping for some talking with people who care.
